Best Halloween Houses in Chicagoland & Illinois

Chicagoland has the biggest cluster of home haunters anywhere on our map outside BC. Suburbs like Plainfield, Huntley, Elgin, West Chicago, Lombard and Waukegan are full of walk-through yards with animatronics, hand-built props and themed stories, and a few more pins sit downstate in Champaign.

Many of these are serious hobby builds. Homeowners describe choose-your-own-adventure paths, crypts, manors and witches’ woods covering nearly an acre. Some run on set nights in the lead-up to Halloween, so read each listing before heading out.
